DAZN Bet - Key visual design

A short case study of my contribution to a DAZN Bet products look and feel.

In this article, I will tell you about a project that I enjoyed working on. I was involved in the development of a new online platform for DAZN Bet, which offers sports betting and casino games. DAZN is a global leader in live sports streaming, with millions of fans around the world. Combining their popularity and expertise in sports with gaming products was a smart move.

Overview

I worked on adapting the DAZN brand voice to a new context: sportsbook and casino.

DAZN had a strong brand identity, but it was not suitable for a gambling business. I had to create and implement a new voice that would bridge the gap between these two domains.

The challenge was to preserve the DAZN spirit and maintain consistency, while also meeting the tight deadline of a contract work.

Project Highlights

My role in this project was to create the initial design of the page, not the final version. I was very pleased to see that my original idea was mostly preserved in the final product. This project was a valuable opportunity for me to showcase my skills and creativity. In this article, I will explain more about the sources of inspiration and some of the concepts that we experimented with during the iterative process.

To illustrate the process of creating the UI designs, I included a small mood board that shows some of the inspirations and references I used. Below, you can see the initial state of the project. The sportsbook and casino platforms had a basic architecture that was fixed and could not be modified at this stage. Our goal was to apply styling on the existing elements only, without affecting the functionality or the layout. This was necessary to meet the deadline for the launch of the product, which was scheduled for last year's World Cup.

Design Journey

This project required me to work overtime for several nights. I wanted to achieve a high-quality result. I experimented with different versions, as you can see in the images. I like each of them for different reasons. They all fit well with the platform's design. However, the platform had some limitations and we had to compromise and launch a text-only version. I also worked on the casino page, which was easier because we had a ready-made grid that we just customized with the brand elements.
